At CrossFit South Shore, our children’s program is available for 7 to 13 year olds. Whether your child loves to play soccer or prefers to read, our program combines fitness with fun in a way that all kids can enjoy.
We believe in teaching children that fitness is part of a healthy lifestyle. It’s not something that you HAVE to do, its something you WANT to do because you enjoy it! We want children to create a lifelong positive association with fitness and the gym. To do this, we not only teach your children fundamental movements but we also encourage them to play, challenge themselves and participate in active games. Yes, your kids will sweat- but they’ll also have a blast!
Is it Safe?
The skills taught in our kids program are scaled according to age, maturity level, and individual abilities. We ensure that your child is only presented with tasks that he or she is ready for. CrossFit South Shore is also an Officially Licensed CrossFit Kids Affiliate. This means the coaches who will be working with your children, have been Certified specifically in the methods of CrossFit Kids and CrossFit Level 1 (ANSI certified). Coaches are approved and background checked by CrossFit Kids HQ. To top it off, our Head CrossFit Kid’s instructor is also an N.Y.S. certified Physical Education teacher K-12.
We love to see families who workout together. Sometimes it’s just a parent who starts the ball rolling by taking an On-Ramp class or it’s a boy or girl who joins the kids program only to be followed by a parent. It’s sharing a love for fitness that not only bonds the members of a family together, but also ensures many happy and healthy years together. Can you get that when your child takes a dance class and you just watch? This is an activity that you can do separately, but enjoy and talk about together.
How Do My Kids Get Started?
Contact us to today to schedule your child’s first FREE visit. During your initial session we’ll show you around the gym, ask you about your goals for your child, and have you fill out their waiver and information card. You’ll also get to meet our kids coaches, talk to them about any questions or concerns you may have and watch your child’s first official CrossFit Kids workout!
If they have fun (spoiler: they will!) we’ll go over our kid’s program membership options with you.
