Let's talk nutrition!!
Now that our new athletes are settling into the CrossFit way I want to start getting serious about nutrition. Quite simply proper nutrition is more important than the hard work you put into your workouts. It is the foundation for which we survive and more importantly thrive. But in order to thrive we must fuel our bodies properly. I mean, how well do you think a Boeing 767 would fly if the pilot filled up the tank with regular unleaded from the local Lukoil? Easy analogy right? Our bodies aren't much different, feed your own jet engine crap and……. well, you probably get the point.
Sometimes we find a person thinks they are eating healthy, but when they show us a food log it's a different story. With that being said, the first step in working with you to improve your nutrition is to write down everything you eat for a few days. This is called a food log. Bring this food log in and we will look at it. We can then discuss the changes that should be made, and why we recommend those changes. This will help you understand how proper nutrition affects your health and well being, ultimately allowing you to thrive, not just survive.

Watch the video, read the article and start writing your food log. Post any thoughts or questions to comments and we will continue this dialogue in the coming weeks.
